    Boot Warmers: What I’m Loving {Lately}

    I love when I have something I’m loving lately to share with you! So, of course I’m linking up with Carly, Kristin, Niki, and Rachel for their weekly Loving Lately blog hop! Here’s what I’m loving:  I love my new boot warmers I stumbled upon on Etsy the other day! They were hand crocheted by Julie at Crochet This For Me.  {Image source: Crochet This For Me} These are so cute and cozy and add such a fun layered look to your outfit. They’re so much better than big boot socks, I think. Those suckers make my feet hot and my boots too small. Not a pleasant experience. Here’s a…

    100 Follower Giveaway!

    Hello, friends! As you may {or may not} have noticed, FUMC has shot up in follows in the last month or so. I’m seriously thrilled by that and so grateful to all of you guys for reading my silly little thoughts.    In fact,I was so excited when I hit 100 GFC followers last week that I decided to celebrate with a little giveaway. My very own giveaway! I’m becoming a big girl blogger! Crazy. I’m seriously thrilled that this little space of mine is growing a bit. I was hoping to maybe hit 100 followers by Christmas and it’s like, way before Christmas. Awesome. The other day I got…

    Call me Mary Poppins

     Happy Sunday, Loves! I don’t know about you but I’ve had a busy, exhausting weekend. I’d love to tell you I was out partying like a rock star with celebrities but, no. I was up to my elbows in diapers and the Disney Channel all weekend. I went to Illinois with Miss A to watch my nephews. I love those little men more than anything…but holy hell. They’re a lot of work. No wonder my sister is such a skinny bitch.   Once you see this, though you’ll see why I didn’t mind so much. I wish this was longer but my stupid iphone decided to run out of memory…

    I am Grateful…

     I am grateful….. That my children are healthy and happy and thriving That we live in a home that we love coming home to That I get to go to work with people that I would chose to hang out with even if I didn’t have to For old friends and inside jokes and pourable burgers That there are actual people I’ve never met who read the stuff I write on purpose  To be married to a guy who still makes me laugh my weird laugh that only comes out for certain kinds of funny For growing into my own awkwardness to the point that I consider it one of…

    Rock the Vote

      Whatever your politics, I hope you all went out and rocked the vote today, my fellow Americans. Even if you’re someone who believes voting would just be choosing between the lesser of two evils, you should still be part of that choice.  Someone’s gotta be in charge if this shznit. You might as well have something to say about who that is. Here’s what I think: 1. The right to choose your own leader is a big ass deal that you shouldn’t take for granted. 2. The individual chosen to lead a country obviously significantly affects the path of said country but not more than the actions of individual…

    Shop My Closet!

    As I’ve mentioned before, we made the decision for me to reduce my work hours significantly. It has been a very good thing other than the strain it’s put on our budget. Pretty much most non essentials have had to be sacrificed for the time being.  Something big that I have had to give up is upgrading my camera.  I have wanted for so long to get an SLR camera and take a photography class and learn to take great pictures of my kids. Having a blog has just made that want of mine even stronger, as you can imagine.  Since a $1000 camera is definitely considered a non essential…

    That Which Fills Her Heart

      {source}  I had a great experience today meeting with a group of amazing blogging woman from my area. This was the first time I’ve done anything like this. I learned so much and it was so great to talk with actual live people who do what I do! {Not that all of you amazing woman out there in the blogosphere who have helped me out and inspired me are dead. You know what I mean.} This meet up today really got my bloggy juices flowing again and re-energized me to keep going. It was just the reminder I needed to keep following my heart and doing something I love just for the…

    A Going on a Bear Hunt Kind of Saturday

    So many of our weekends are taken up with all those things that can take over the life of a young family. Birthday parties, baby showers, soccer tournaments, family commitments… On rare weekends when life is quiet and it’s just the four of us, we have a little tradition of going out for a morning family walk. Two kids, the dog, and two travel mugs of steaming coffee for Husband and I. This morning was one of those times. For some reason it was especially memorable.  Very “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” if you know what I mean. If you don’t, it’s a modern classic children’s book by Michael Rosen…

    High Five For Friday and NaBloPoMo November

    It’s Friday, Loves! The day I like to recap the best parts of my week in High Five for Friday…shall we? 1.  Trick or Treating was last Saturday in our little town…as always, it was so much fun! My sister, brother-in-law, and nephews came to spend the weekend with us which is always a blast.Chaotic and insane but a blast. Miss A was Rapunzel (a costume she’s had since our trip to Disney World last summer,yay for me!), Mr. Man went as Frankenstein, and my nephews were a Cowboy and a Baby Lion.  The best part about our neighborhood are the houses that serve “Adult Treats” along with the candy.…

    It’s Okay {Thursday}

    It’s okay Thursday!  Linking up with Neely and Amber, per usual… It’s okay that I washed down half a pint of Haagen Daz with a glass of red last night.  It was just that kind of day yesterday. It’s okay that I yelled at my kidsfor leaving Halloween candy wrappers all over the table next to the computer and then later realized they were mine. It’s okay that Tuesday night was so hectic and insane that I reached a point that I just couldn’t deal with one more thing so I told my daughter we were skipping ballet class and we all went home and got in our pajamas before…
